Hi-Tech Protection Plan — Dad Approval Packet

Created: 2026-05-01

Status: Internal approval packet — no customer use until Dad approves.

Why this matters

The Protection Plan is the cleanest recurring-revenue add-on for Hi-Tech because it connects directly to systems Dad already installs:

  • cameras
  • DVR/NVR recording
  • remote viewing apps
  • alarms
  • access control
  • Wi-Fi/network reliability
  • cabling/rack cleanup

The pitch is not “buy a subscription.” The pitch is:

Do not wait until after a break-in, employee issue, or missing-footage problem to find out your system stopped working.

Recommended launch version

Start with commercial customers only and keep it simple.

Offer first

  1. Business Essential — $99/month draft
  • Quarterly remote check where practical
  • Annual onsite inspection
  • Camera/recorder/storage review
  • Basic access-code/user review where applicable
  • Priority scheduling
  • 10% repair/upgrade labor discount
  1. Business Pro — $199/month draft
  • Monthly remote check where practical
  • Two onsite inspections per year
  • Limited access-control user admin support
  • Basic incident footage export help
  • Annual written security condition report
  • 15% repair/upgrade labor discount

Hold for later

  • Home Basic — $29/month draft
  • Home Plus — $59/month draft

Reason: commercial accounts have higher pain, higher stakes, and easier recurring-revenue justification.

Where to use it first

Best low-risk insertion points:

  1. New camera/security proposals
  2. Access-control proposals
  3. Wi-Fi/network cleanup proposals
  4. Past commercial customers who already trust Hi-Tech
  5. Customers calling about remote-viewing, recorder, camera, or access issues

Do not blast this publicly yet. Use it in quotes and selective conversations first.

Suggested customer-facing line

We recommend adding the Hi-Tech Protection Plan so your cameras, recorder, remote viewing, access control, and network-related security systems get checked after installation — before a problem costs you footage or downtime.

Suggested estimate line item

Optional: Hi-Tech Protection Plan — Business Essential

Recurring support plan for camera/recorder health checks, remote-viewing support where practical, basic access-control review where applicable, priority scheduling, and discounted repair/upgrade labor.

Draft price: $99/month — pending final system size and Dad approval.

Optional: Hi-Tech Protection Plan — Business Pro

Expanded recurring support plan with more frequent checks, two onsite inspections per year, limited access-control admin support, basic incident footage export help, and annual written condition notes.

Draft price: $199/month — pending final system size and Dad approval.

Guardrails

  • No guarantee that cameras prevent crime.
  • No guarantee of emergency response time unless Dad defines it.
  • No promise remote checks are possible on every system.
  • Parts, equipment, monitoring fees, new cabling, and major labor should be quoted separately.
  • Do not use “24/7 support” unless Dad explicitly approves that service level.

Recommendation

Approve a narrow test:

Use the Protection Plan as an optional add-on in the next few commercial camera/access/network quotes, but only offer Business Essential and Business Pro until the wording and workload feel right.

This creates recurring revenue without overcomplicating the launch.
